Gold is yellow and solid a fellow trader once said and prospectors usually tell: Gold is where you find it.
Everyone knows what gold is, but hardly anybody can tell how to seek and find it. So I’m currently working on a website for prospectors, addressed to all newcomers as well as professionals, on how to search and find gold.
From the planning to the safety, equipment, cost and duration of such a search, the preliminary reconnaissance to the actual prospecting, claiming and beyond, the geology and securing of the find, all topics will be covered. And eventually you will find detailed checklists so you will hopefully not lose a single grain.

I wish there had been something like this when I started my career as a prospector in West-Africa back in January 2000. My guess is that it would have saved me a lot of work, time and money. In short I can summarize my experience in the search for gold in one sentence: “Gold is easy to find, but the problems start when you have found it.”
